LulaRoost · Non-Medical Transportation (NMT)

Roost Senior Rides

No app required. Call us to book your ride.

Roost Senior Rides is LulaRoost’s phone-booked Non-Medical Transportation (NMT) service for older adults. Call us before your first ride, and we will come out and get you set up before your first ride.

Phone booking opens when LulaRoost begins service in your area. An account or an inquiry does not reserve a ride until support confirms the booking with you.

Simple, respectful, clear

How Roost Senior Rides works

  1. Get set up. Call us before your first ride, and we will come out and get you set up before your first ride. Or call and we’ll text you a private setup link, so you can set up online yourself or with a family member’s help. You’ll need a verified phone number and a payment card saved securely in your account.
  2. Turn on phone booking. Reply YES to our text message, or choose Allow on your Roost Senior setup page. It works on any phone, and you can turn it off at any time.
  3. Call us to book. We text a one-time code to confirm it’s you, tell you the fare (including the $2.00 phone booking fee), and book only if you agree.
  4. Get text updates. With texts turned on, we send your booking, your driver’s first name, car and plate, and when your driver arrives.

Your first five rides don’t need a photo. Before your sixth ride we’ll need a clear photo of you so drivers can recognize you at pickup — we can take it when we come out. Never email or text payment-card numbers, account passwords or identity documents; LulaRoost staff will never ask for them.

Information for families

Supporting independence, respecting choices

For older adults

Your ride, your destination, your plans. Our goal is to offer straightforward transportation without treating independence as an afterthought.

For family and caregivers

A family member may help with setup, but support must verify permission before discussing or changing the rider's account. Caregiver access will never mean unrestricted account access.

Know what to expect

What NMT means

Non-Medical Transportation means ordinary transportation—not ambulance service, emergency response, clinical care, medical supervision, or hands-on personal assistance. LulaRoost drivers are not presented as caregivers or medical attendants.

If a rider needs specialized wheelchair-accessible vehicles, lifting, transfers, or an attendant, please ask about availability and suitability before arranging transportation. Never assume those services are included.

In an emergency, call 911.

Frequently asked questions

No. You book by phone with our support desk. Setup can be done with us at your home, online, or by replying to our text.

What information is required?

A verified phone number, a payment card saved securely in your account, and your permission for phone booking. A photo is needed before your sixth ride. Cards are saved through a secure payment page, never by sharing a card number by phone, email or text.

Will I get text messages?

Yes, when texts are turned on for your account. We send your booking, your driver’s first name, car and plate, and when your driver arrives. Reply STOP at any time to stop texts.

Phone booking opens when LulaRoost begins service in your city. Call (334) 487-6746 for current availability.

Can a family member book on someone's behalf?

Support must verify the rider's permission before an authorized family member or caregiver may act on their behalf.

Will drivers provide medical care or personal assistance?

No. This is Non-Medical Transportation. Drivers do not provide clinical care, personal transfers, medical monitoring, or emergency response.

Where will rides be available?

LulaRoost is planning service across Alabama with city activation controlled by Operations. Coverage and pickup availability must be confirmed when service opens.

Do I need to share medical information?

No. Please do not email diagnoses, treatment details, insurance information, medical history, or patient records. Only ordinary transportation details and any equipment relevant to access should be discussed through approved channels.

It is always our pleasure to serve you.
